Obituary for Ronald Allan Hewell

Obituary written by his family-

Ronald "Ron" Allan Hewell, 83, beloved husband, father and pop, died July 31, 2019.

At his request, only private family services will be held.

Ron was born July 11, 1936 to the late Thelma Ruth Muth Hewell. He loved baseball and played throughout his youth. He was even offered a minor league contract. Ron was an automobile lover from a young age and worked in a garage while in school. That translated into a love of racing, which he and his son fulfilled through NHRA super gas and competition eliminator. Ron was known to be an outstanding mechanic -- he always rescued his granddaughters from car troubles. Later in life, he rebuilt a 1941 Chrysler New Yorker and when he couldn't find the parts he needed, he fabricated his own. There was truly nothing that Ron couldn't fix.

Ron had an engaging personality and was well-loved by his many friends and his family. He was the Plant Manager at McCorquodale for 50 years where he designed many machines that were later patented by the company. All of his accomplishments were achieved without formal education or training.

Ron will forever be remembered by his wife Connie Hewell; children Leland Hewell and wife Jacqui, Valerie Simon and husband Mark; granddaughters Rebecca Highland and husband Carl, Jessica Jeddry and husband Craig, Lesley Parthree and husband Scott Carter, Patricia Simon and Rebecca Simon; great-grandchildren Ryley Jeddry, Liam Jeddry and Eva Highland.
