Life Story for Gertrude F. Sliger

GERTRUDE F. SLIGER, 91 of Bel Air, formerly of Pylesville, MD, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Known as Trudy, she had shared 60 years of marriage with her husband, Andrew G. Sliger at the time of his death in March 2008.

Born on November 17, 1927 in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph M. and Ruth M. (McKinley) Fulton and a 1945 graduate of the former Delta High School. Trudy had been employed with the former F.W. Woolworth Store on Main Street, Bel Air for 20 years when she retired in 1980. A member of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church since 1940, she served as deacon and as secretary of the Women’s Association. Trudy and her late husband, Andy enjoyed traveling, yard sales and “antique hunting.”

Two grandchildren-
Russell Sliger and his wife, Lacey of Whiteford, MD
Christine Bredehoft and her husband, Matthew of Shrewsbury, PA

Five great grandchildren-
Abigail, Elle and Brinkley Sliger; Emily and Quinn Bredehoft

Three nephews-
Dennis, Raymond and Tom Fulton

She was preceded in death by her infant twin sons: Robert Allen and Richard Lee Sliger and brother, Donald Fulton.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church, 1630 Chestnut Street, Cardiff, MD 21160 with a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. followed immediately with the funeral. Her pastor, Reverend Kenneth Osborne will officiate. Interment will follow in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, PA.
