Obituary for JoAnna Lee Delong
JOANNA LEE DELONG, 59 of Delta, PA passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 in her home. Together for 43 years, she was the beloved companion of Paul W. Leonard of Delta, PA. Born October 20, 1959 in Lakewood, California, she was a daughter of Helen (Cornelius) DeLong of Bel Air, MD and the late Herbert DeLong and the step-daughter of E. Donnel Brooks of Bel Air, MD.
JoAnna worked in construction for over 19 years and enjoyed every moment. A breast cancer survivor, she loved to laugh, make jokes, tell stories, read, solve crossword puzzles and play computer games. She was also fond of anything associated with black panthers, planting flowers, singing songs she made up, and playing board games. JoAnna cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
Her family commented “all who knew her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, and undying love and caring for them.”
JoAnna is also survived by;

Sierra L. DeLong of Forest Hill, MD
Garon E. DeLong of Delta, PA
Three siblings:
Elizabeth Mettetal and husband Larry of Naples, Florida
Hugh DeLong and wife Beth of North Carolina
Cheryl DeLong-Younger and husband Daniel of Owings, Maryland
Four grandchildren:
Quincy Betts
Jaylin DeLong
Breanna DeLong
Kaydence DeLong
As well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends
She is also preceded in death by her great-niece Nicole Cochran
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street Delta, PA 17314 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed immediately with the funeral service. Funeral staff will be assisting with parking and handicap needs during the viewing and funeral service. Interment will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, PA.
