SYLVESTER CLARENCE OVER, JR., (58) known to all as “Scott” died in his Pylesville, MD home on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Born on May 22, 1960 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Sylvester Clarence Over and Betty (Pinkind) Over of Phoenix, MD. Married on August 2, 1987, he had shared 31 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sally A. (Saffell) Over. Their son, Travis Over and his wife, Anna live in Jarrettsville, MD with grand pup, Zoey. His two sisters-Jean Gerding and her husband, Chris along with their children: Scottie and Zina all live in Manheim, PA; Carol Over and fiancé, Hal Southern are of Freeland, MD

Scott had been employed for 34 years with Becton Dickinson at the Harkins Road Sheep Farm and later in Hunt Valley as a maintenance technician. Scott had been involved with the Jacksonville VFC having served as lieutenant. Moving to Harford County in 1987, he joined the Norrisville VFC when it was chartered in 1994 and held the positions of chief emeritus as well as chief engineer. The NVFC bestowed upon him the status of lifetime and charter member.

Scott enjoyed turkey shoots at the Izaak Walton League. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, boating and crabbing.

A Casual Life Celebration Dinner will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 beginning at 2 p.m. in Norrisville VFC Firehouse, 2134 Harkins Road, Pylesville, MD 21132. His family would appreciate memorial contributions to the fire company at the above address.
