Obituary for Donald Edward Rigdon

Donald Edward  Rigdon
Donald E. Rigdon, 87 of Delta, PA died on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Audrey Elizabeth (Liz) Few Rigdon with whom he recently shared their 60th wedding anniversary on August 23.

Born on April 6, 1931, in Bryansville area of Delta, PA, he was a son of the late Stephen J. Rigdon and Mabel I. (Hecker) Rigdon.

Donald served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955. Retiring in September, 1993 from United Airlines in San Francisco, CA, Donald went on to enjoy his well-deserved 25 years of retirement in his hometown. Donald had a passion for showing and attending old car shows with his brother, Elmer.

His family commented that “he was a very kind, compassionate, warm-hearted person who will be sadly missed by his family and friends.”

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
His son, Thomas E. Rigdon of Seattle, WA
His sister, Joy Tompkins, wife of Earl Thompkins of Fawn Grove, PA
His brother, Roy Rigdon of Abingdon, MD

He is preceded in death by:
His three brothers, Norman (Pappy) Rigdon, Elmer Rigdon, Stephen J. Rigdon, Jr.
and a sister, Sarah Eugenia Rigdon.

Inurnment will be held privately; Harkins Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.
