Life Story for Allen Douglas "Doug" McMillan

ALLEN DOUGLAS “Doug” McMillan, 64 of Darlington, MD died on Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Stella Maris Hospice, Timonium, MD. Married on May 22, 1976, he was the beloved husband of Anna Christine “Chris” (Settle) McMillan with whom he had shared 42 years of marriage.

Born on June 10, 1954 in Havre de Grace, MD, he was a son of Geraldine (Akers) McMillan of Darlington, MD and the late William Sidney McMillan. A 1973 graduate of North Harford High School in Pylesville, MD, he had been a Civil Service employee working for Aberdeen Proving Ground retiring as a machinist in 2008. In retirement, he was a dedicated employee of Harkins Funeral Home for many years followed by service with Harford Center in Havre de Grace. Doug was a longtime member of the Darlington VFC and the VFW Post #8185 of Port Deposit, MD.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by:
Two children-
Jonathan “Scott” and his wife, Trish of White Hall, MD
Jennifer” Jenn” Borneman and her husband, Eric of Salisbury MD

Four grandchildren- Kolbie Cvach, Ashlie McMillan, Kallie Borneman and Kennedie Borneman

Two siblings-
Rhonda McMillan and her husband Donald Lowe of Woodlawn, VA
Brother, David McMillan and his wife, Janet of Street, MD

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald L. McMillan on September 9, 2013.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 11th at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where family and friends will be received after 6 p.m. thru 9 p.m. The funeral service will follow on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Jason McNeese and Chaplain Ralph Borden co-officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Alexander, Dennis Cox, Sam (J.R.) Daughton, Jim James, Jim Rinehart and Rick Schafer.

Committal services will be held in Harford Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Aberdeen, MD
