Life Story for Richard A. Johnson

Richard A.  Johnson
RICHARD A. JOHNSON, 89 years of Fawn Grove, PA, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2018 and now he is “Home at Last”. He leaves loving memories for his wife, Marie E. ( Murray) Johnson, and they had shared 69 years of marriage.

Born on February 2, 1929 in Pylesville, MD, he was a son of the late Calvin and Anna (Miller) Johnson and was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1952-1954 in the Korean War. Richard had worked for over 25 years as a parts distributor in motorcycle manufacturing for the Triumph Corporation in Timonium, MD. He also worked as a supervisor for ISS at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Plant from 1983 – 1993.

Richard loved God and was a longtime devoted member of Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church where he served on the Board of Trustees, Lay Council, Usher Board and as president of the Trinity Male Chorus. Richard served on the Trinity Cemetery Association for numerous years and was a member of the Harford-York Counties Male Chorus.

His family remarks,” Your kind expression of sympathy and friendship will always remain in our memories of Richard.”

In addition to his wife, he was cherished by:
A daughter, Lynda Owens and her husband, William of Whiteford, MD

A grandchild, Jason Owens

Two great grandchildren-Haden and Elijah.

Three sisters-Leona Turner, Florence Smothers and Shirley Johnson

His loving church family along with pastor of Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, many nieces and nephews as well as special friends.

Services will be held at Trinity A. M. E. Church, 1006 Main Street, Delta, PA 17314 with a visitation on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, the 16th at 11 a.m. Revered Mary Johnson will preside with Reverend Charles Smith offering the eulogy. Interment in Trinity A. M. E. Zion Cemetery, Delta with military honors presented at graveside by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. His family would prefer memorial contributions to the church at the above address.
