Life Story for Dorothy Mae Scarborough

Dorothy Mae  Scarborough
DOROTHY MAE SCARBOROUGH, 65 years of Darlington, MD, died on Monday, January 29, 2018 in the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Married on December 14, 1996 to David Hugh Scarborough, they had shared 21 years of marriage.

Born on Valentine’s Day 1952 in Havre de Grace, MD, she was a daughter of the late John S. Ball, Sr., and Helen Louise Fitch Ball. An entrepreneur, she and her husband owned and operated “The Canvas Shop on Wheels” for 31 years. Dorothy loved playing games with her family, music, farming, animals, canning, flowers and collecting Dolphins. An outdoors fan, she enjoyed water skiing, motorcycles, camping and boating. In addition she was involved with 4-H as a child. Her family remarked that she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by:

Rusty McIntire of Havre de Grace, MD
Sherry Scarborough-Raitt of Havre de Grace, MD
Lisa Kastina of Forest Hill, MD

Fifteen grandchildren, a great grandchild and she was looking forward to the next great grandchild’s soon arrival.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Lucile Houser and Ruth Barninger.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

Funeral services will be on Monday, the 5th at 11 a.m. in Reformation Bible Church, 1736 Whiteford Road, Darlington, MD 21034 with interment in Darlington Cemetery.

Reverend Dr. John E. McKnight will officiate along with Reverend Herb Townsend and Reverend Adam Lewandowski.

In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to the church at the above address.
