Life Story for Janet L. Jourdan

Janet L.  Jourdan
JANET L. JOURDAN, 77 years of Whiteford, MD, died on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Autumn House West in York, PA. Married on June 20, 1959, she had shared 53 years of marriage with her husband, Luther H. “Boots” Jourdan, when he passed away in May 2013.

Born on September 7, 1939 in Pylesville, MD, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Alice M. (Rowley) Eaton and a 1957 graduate of North Harford High School. Janet had worked as a bookkeeper for local companies including the former Petti Frocks Sewing, Dixie Construction, Maryland Paving, for the late Helen Richardson’s Beauty Shop and the John S. Murphy VFW Post #7130 in Delta, PA. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Parish and enjoyed the art of stained glass. Janet was known as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Janet’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her loved ones.

She is survived by:
Three daughters-
Heidi Pabis and her husband, Scott of Airville, PA
Tina M. Barben and her husband, Daniel of Whiteford, MD
April Tarbert and her husband, Timothy of Delta

A son-in-law, John C. Wiegand of Whiteford, MD (husband of her daughter, Aneita Louise (Jourdan) Wiegand, who died in November 2016)

Two sisters-
Beverly C. Wilson of Delta, PA
E. Vicky Bennington of Whiteford, MD

Eleven grandchildren-Crystal, Candace, Chad, Ashley, Lauren, Justin, Joshua, Tyler, Carley, Jacob and Sara.

Nine great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her sister, Jerri Miller and brother, James Norman Eaton.


A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Parish, 1021 St. Mary’s Road, Pylesville, MD with Reverend A. Henry Kunkel, III as celebrant.

Following immediately after the mass, will be a luncheon in the church social hall.

In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to the John S. Murphy VFW Post #7130, 424 Broad Street Ext., Delta, PA 17314 to assist veterans or Alzheimer’s Association, Maryland Chapter, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093
